Chi Shilin was born in Laiyang, Shandong Province in 1991 and graduated from the Experimental Art Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Chi Shilin's works attempt to explore the use of art to resolve the contradictions between oneself, people and the environment. He will combine Zen koans, ready-made material combinations, environmental protection and mechanical behaviors to present the ways of getting along with the outside world in different periods. He often expresses the states of wear and tear, ritual and process in his works.
